Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT-Delhi) is the centre of excellence for training, research and development in the field of science, engineering & technology in India. The institute was established in the year 1959 and is a public technical and research university in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. It is located on the Grand Trunk Road and is spread across 420 hectares, which is approximately 1000 acres. It houses more than 6500 students with 3938 undergraduate ones and 2540 being the postgraduate students. With this, the institute also has around 500 research associates.

It has gained nationwide popularity for being the leader in engineering education and research.
