Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) – Kanpur is counted in the top IIT’s in India. The institute was established in the year 1959 and is a public technical and research university in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. It is located on the Grand Trunk Road and is spread across 420 hectares, which is approximately 1000 acres. It houses more than 6500 students with 3938 undergraduate ones and 2540 being the postgraduate students. With this, the institute also has around 500 research associates.

JEE Advanced 2018 is going to be held on 20th May 2018 and IIT Kanpur is the organizing institution. Only this year, a decision has been taken to make logistics and evaluation process easier and consequently the exam will be conducted in the Computer Based Test (CBT) or online Mode. In the online mode, students would need to take the exam at the designated centres where instead of marking their answers in an OMR (Optical Mark Reading) sheet, they would need to answer the questions on a computer. There have been occasional errors in the JEE Advanced question papers and now with the introduction of CBT or online mode such errors will hopefully be removed.

It is very well understood that there might be some ambiguity Students might face while giving the exam in CBT mode for the first time and to overcome this barrier, IIT Kanpur (The exam organization Body for JEE Advanced 2018) has released various help videos (available in both English and Hindi) and mock Tests, in order to help Students acclimatize this new testing pattern.
